Wednesday, 27 January 2010
Hello Guys,

We had some really great Den Meetings tonight.  If you did not make it, call your den leader and see what you missed.

The Webelos reviewed the schedule of upcoming events that are on the calendar at www.bsapack11.org.
We finalized the food pyramid; designed a balanced meal; and prepared a delicious and healthy apple snack.  Ummmmm-Good!  Webelos:  Make sure you plan/prepare/serve/clean-up/document in journal your meal.  Complete your two week physical fitness journal.  Complete your every meal journal for a week.  These are to be completed no later and no extensions by third week in February 2010.  You will not receive your Webelos badge nor the other belt loops if you don't do the projects.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD DOOR HANGER DISTRIBUTION RESCHEDULED FROM THIS SATURDAY TO THIS SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. AT THE CHURCH.  PLEASE BE THERE.

PINEWOOD DERBY WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY AT 12 P.M. AT LOWE'S ROCKY MOUNT.  PLEASE BE THERE IF YOU CAN.  OUR PINEWOOD DERBY IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

Spaghetti dinner tickets are going well; but,  we are trailing those boy scouts and I don't like it.  You can really show them CUB Scout Power.  Please sell all that you can.  Webelos II:  If you want money for Boy Scout Summer camp, you need to sell all you can.  I need all of you to give me what money you have at the Pack meeting next wk.  You can also get some more tickets then.

We need nice prizes for next weeks Pack Meeting.  If you have any or can get some donated, please call me at 252-883-8900.

Please pay your $27 annual dues by or at the Pack meeting Tuesday night at 6:30.  If you can't, call me to make arrangements.  Let me know how we can help.

Scout Sunday is FEBRUARY 7.  This is a wonderful opportunity for us to worship together as a Cub Scout Family.  We will all also be bringing covered dish soup for lunch.  Bring enough for who will be with you plus one.  All families should attend.  RSVP this Tuesday at the Pack meeting.

All those that attended the MONSTER Jam this past Sat., I can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures at Tuesday's Pack Meeting.

Dens:  Send your monthly den pictures to Chris Davis to put on the Web Site.  ALSO, DENS--MAKE A MONTHLY ONE PAGE 8.5"X11" COLOR PRINT-OUT FOR THE BULLETIN BOARD.  BRING IT TO THE PACK MEETING THIS TUESDAY.

Tar River Astronomy Club Public Viewing
Written by Chris Davis
Tuesday, 20 October 2009

Hi Scouts and Akelas!

For the second part of our Astronomy Belt Loop and Pin Achievement project, Pack 11 will be joining the Tar River Astronomy Club for their monthly Public Viewing at the Soccer Fields across Nash Central High School Friday October 23, 2009. Viewing begins at sunset or around 6:25 PM, so get there just a bit before. The Public Viewing features telescopes and other equipment operated by TRAC members.  Every time you attend, you get a chance to wind a 4" Reflecting Telescope like the one shown in the Children's Museum Gift Ship.  How AWESOME is THAT!!!??

Print out the Astronomy Loop/Pin Worksheet (PDF Format) and bring it with you, as well as appropriate clothing for the weather.  Dont' forget to work on this belt loop/pin at home, too.

Also visit http://www.heavens-above.com/ for more astronomical data and information.

Now here's the directions for the Akelas, since our scouts can't drive.

Directions from Rocky Mount, NC

Take US 64 West. Take the first exit after crossing over I-95.  Turn left onto Old Carriage Road. Go approxiamately 2 miles and the entrance to the Soccer Fields will be to the right.

Gold Rush Patch Thanks to all the scouts and akelas that showed up for 2009's Gold Rush at Medoc Mountain today!  We all had a good time despite the early rain that put a slight damper on the event, but not our spirits.  Be sure to check out the Photo Gallery for pitcures of todays events.

Akelas who were there, if you have additional photos than what I have, please email them to me at admin{AT}bsapack11.org.  Just take out the {AT} and replace it with @.

We have "Gold Rush" next weekend.  Bring about 10 medium sized rocks to the Pack Meeting Tuesday night at 6:30.  The boys will be painting the rocks for Gold Rush at Medoc Mtn.  We will be taking a head count Tuesday on who is going.  If you have any questions, just give me a call at 252-883-8900.  Don't miss this.

We have to man a game that day also.  I will need a parent to take on supervising this as I have to work that day.
